Habitat Energy & Gresham House Energy Storage Fund extend their BESS optimization partnership in UK
Habitat Energy, a world leading energy optimizer, has committed to optimizing over 500MW of battery energy storage for Gresham House Energy Storage Fund. The BESS optimization framework agreement with the UK’s leading energy investor will extend the partnership to more than 500MW.
Capitalizing on energy investment
GRID aims to capitalize on growing supply and demand imbalances. These are caused by Great Britain and Ireland’s continued increasing reliance on renewable energy. By using batteries to import and export power access to the multiple revenue sources available in the power market will be maximised.
GRID launched in 2018 and is the UK’s largest fund investing in battery energy storage systems. It aims to provide investors with an attractive and sustainable returns. GRID and Habitat have worked together since 2019. Habitat Energy already optimises some of GRID’s top-performing assets. Two of which are Red Scar and Wickham Market.
What is BESS Optimisation
An energy storage management system minimises the losses in the BESS. This prevents premature ageing and maximises the return on investment. Using artificial intelligence (AI) and human management, BESS optimisation maximizes revenue by selling or storing energy when the market is most favorable.
AI-powered optimisation
Working as a strategic partner to asset owners and developers, Habitat will utilize its AI-powered optimization software to maximize long-term value. The agreement makes Habitat Energy the single largest optimizer of batteries on the Fund’s behalf. An amazing 337MW of new battery storage assets are expected to come online within the next 12 months.
