F1 Legend’s Hotel Made From Aberdeen Shipping Containers

Plans for a new hotel made from shipping containers are causing quite a stir in Aberdeen particularly as publicity has been boosted by former F1 Driver David Coulthard.

The firm responsible for the imaginative use of old shipping containers is headed up by former formula one racing driver and TV commentator David Coulthard. When it is completed, the 80-room hotel will be used as temporary accommodation for oil workers and even the wider public.

The company responsible is called Snoozebox and locals in Aberdeen are keen to see the result of what will be a unique feature in the city.

Having David Coulthard head up the project is a major boost for the firm and the firm doesn’t intend to stop at Aberdeen. There are plans to roll out the concept throughout the UK.

Each shipping container will contain four rooms each of which will have an en-suite bathroom and the hotel will contain 160 beds in total.

There are plans to incorporate a restaurant, bar and a social hub.

The only downside is that the venue will only be a temporary feature in ‘the bridge of don’ in the heart of the city’s industrial zone lasting five years.
