The facility will consist of containerized battery storage units capable of powering up to 690,000 homes for two hours, with typical discharge durations ranging from 30 minutes to four hours and a maximum energy capacity of around 624 megawatt hours.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Development and Ownership<\/h2>\n<p>The BESS is being constructed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameresco.com\/ameresco-entered-into-a-249m-196-5-million-gbp-contract-and-long-term-service-om-agreement-with-atlantic-green-for-one-of-the-uks-largest-battery-energy-storage-projects\/\">Ameresco<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticgreen.co.uk\/\">Atlantic Green<\/a>, who plan to complete the project and secure grid connection by mid-2026. Ameresco has signed a \u00a3196.5 million contract and long-term service agreement with Atlantic Green.
