The &#8216;pop up&#8217; spa would be built from shipping containers. It was designed by San Francisco design studio Rebar, and consists of stacked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jpsil.co.uk\">shipping containers<\/a>, and house changing rooms, toilets, sauna and hot tub.<\/p>\n<p>It would also have a small garden and internal courtyard containing showers and plunge buckets. The Spa&#8217;s water supply would be supplemented by rainwater. Blaine Merker from Rebar explained;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The challenge that we set out in developing this proof of concept prototype is to use absolutely the least amount of water possible, use the least amount of energy possible &#8211; we try to catch as much as we can from the sky.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If the funding target is achieved by January 2014, the design team will aim to build a two-tier <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jpsil.co.uk\">shipping container<\/a> prototype some time the same year.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the SOAK project, you can visit <a href=\"www.kickstarter.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.kickstarter.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An environmentally minded entrepreneur is hoping to raise money on a crowdfunding website to build a spa and bathhouse.
