It looks like Starbucks are trying to rebuild some of the environmental kudos that it has lost over the years by promoting the use of shipping containers. The very first Starbucks to use a Shipping Container design was in Seattle, December 2011.
Since then it has opened numerous shipping container stores in Denver, Chicago and Portland. We don’t think there is a UK based shipping container Starbucks as yet, but we are definitely keeping our eyes peeled!
Starbucks have made their environmental policy an integral part of their marketing campaign in the past couple of years, so we hope that this might extend to the UK and we can see our very first British shipping container coffee house. Not that it hasn’t been done already by lesser known coffee chains. As we have already reported, we see a lot of ingenious uses for shipping containers, and cafe’s seem to be one of the most popular.
